Parish Council meeting
Katerina May 2014
The planning application was discussed on the parish council meeting 14th of May 2014. The meeting was well attended by public, including residents living next to the Brooke's Meadow and local naturalists. From the developer side a planning consultant was presented.
During the meeting it become obvious that the ecology report presented by planning consultancy is unsound and ignores the presence of established ecosystem. It does not recognise the ecological value of the place and it's unique flora and fauna, which are generally different from those in Hitchcopse Pit and Dry Sandford Pit nature reserves. The report did not acknowledge that Brooke's Meadow is a habitat for plants and insects, such as glow worms and particularly butterflies and moths.
After the discussion local residents attended the meeting and all parish councils spoke against the the proposal.

Today several local residents received a letter from the council about the planning application which seeks approval of for the importation of some 90,000 m3 of spoil, erection of 12 timber dwellings, a visitor centre with office, café and shop, internal roads etc., car parking, provision of a community area (with possible allotments) and some landscaping in Brooke's Meadow.
Thanks for those people, this application did not pass unnoticed by the rest of the community and many other people who loves Brooke's Meadow. We intend to do our best to object the application and preserve this area of green Belt from been built up.
If you feel that the place deserves to be protected, please object the planning application.

Planning application has been withdrawn
Katerina 20th May 2014
The planning application P14/V0800/FUL has been withdrawn by the applicant. We are sure that it will be resubmitted soon. As we were told by the planning expert from the Oxford Green Belt Network, developers often play the game of making successive applications in the hope that it will wear down the opposition and people will either forget or will get tired of writing objection letters.
We keep an eye on the planning portal and will inform you about the resubmission of this planning application. In the meanwhile we have time to learn about Brooke's Meadow's ecosystem and get more people on our side.
