Template letters to help with submitting an objection
Individually written letters count most when it comes to the planner’s decision but we understand if you do not have the time to write your own in this very busy time of year. Instead, why not use one of our template letters prepared below. We have confirmed with the Vale of White Horse District Council that template letters WILL be counted as a separate objection as long as it is from an identifiable individual. Remember every person should send their own letter and children can send one too.
Below is a selection of templates for you to use and modify.
First, download the template you wish to use
Second, fill in the relevant blank section at the top with your name and address (email address optional). Save this version in a place you can find it such as your 'desktop'
Lastly, either print it out, sign your name at the bottom and pop it in the post (ideally 1st class given the Christmas/New Year period)
Or, quicker still, upload it as an attachment to the council’s online comments area here
Note: It doesn't matter that it won't have your signature (unless you've signed it and scanned it in); it's your name and address that is the important thing
[Some modern computers may save the letter as a .docx file which the council website will not accept. If this occurs, after filling in your address details, save again as a pdf file - click on the dropdown 'save as type' and choose 'pdf'. This pdf file should then upload successfully. Or, if all else fails, cut and paste the text from the template letter and insert into the comment box.]
If, having read our template letters, you feel more confident about writing your own, return to our Take Action page to find out how.
